So a couple years ago I finished a year-long rebuild of an '83 RX-7, retaining maybe 5% of the Mazda parts, mostly the shell, the interior, and the gas tank. Everything else got replaced, by me, with upgrades from other sources.
Engine: '96 Camaro 3.8L V6
Transmission: '94 Camaro T5 manual
Rear axle housing: '94 GMC Jimmy 4x4
Rear axle shafts: late-'80s Bronco II left-side
Limited Slip differential: '93 Camaro Z28
Ring and Pinion gears: '86 Monte Carlo 2.29:1
IFS / P.S. '87 RX-7 FC
Front calipers: Mercedes S430 / Brembo 4-piston
Rear calipers: '84 Trans Am WS6
Rotors: Napa Premium, 11.75" front, 11.3" rear
Rear suspension: my own custom panhard / 3-link
Driveshaft: '86 Camaro shortened 3.5" and re-balanced
Radiator: Summit Racing 26x19x2.25" aluminum
Wheels: Raceline 15x7, 5x114.3, +40
Tires: I started with 195/60 front, 225/60 rear, switched to 205/50 front and rear
et cetera
