My guess- front end lengthened by at least six inches or so. They are a tight engine bay to begin with plus the wheel wells would have never supported those wheels for diameter.
Also, I bet he might have a difficult time moving to the next lane with that funny shiny thing sticking above the bonnet. ;-)
