XJ6 + 305
Only just beginning to focus on Jags with V8 transplants.
They seem surprisingly common. Here's one on Craigslist, soooo cheap [washingtondc.craigslist.org] And yet they are rarely mentioned on here??? Ivor Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/13/2014 01:07PM by 88v8. |

Re: XJ6 + 305
SBC swaps into XJ6's were pretty popular for a long time; i'm sure there are a bunch out there. There were (maybe still are even) kits available to help with the conversion. Don't see them much here probably because the board caters more to sports cars but the Jag sedans are still cool.

Rob: Check out John's Cars a bit north of you in Dallas. He has parts and kits for Jag, TR7 and Datzun Zcar. |

Re: XJ6 + 305
When one starts looking, which I now am, there are quite a few.
Here's a MkII + V6 [cgi.ebay.co.uk] and here an XJ6 + 350 [cgi.ebay.co.uk] although why anyone would want to ride around on those tyres.... Still looking Ivor |

Re: XJ6 + 305
And another one, this time a 350/400
[cgi.ebay.co.uk] A driver rather than a show queen, but at $7k... might as well give it away. Unbelievable. Go on, treat yourself for Xmas. Ivor |

Re: XJ6 + 305
And here
[cgi.ebay.co.uk] is an XJS with 350+700R4. Although why it would need a new fuel tank in the boot, is a mystery. Ivor |

Re: XJ6 + 305
Not really so mysterious if you've owned one. The stock dual tank system is complex and prone to failure. It's not unusual to see the two tanks plumbed to a common fuel pump, meaning the dual fillers are something of a bother, and the tanks themselves rust at the bottom. So, a single large capacity tank is a reasonable solution.
