New to the Gallery: Larry's British-built P1800 V8
I'm very pleased to announce an all new article about Larry Rembold's Volvo P1800 with Ford 289 V8.
This article features 56 photos, mostly from when Larry and I both attended the historics at Portland International Raceway back in July. BritishV8 originally featured this car about a decade ago, with photos even older than that. Since our earlier article, this P1800 has been extensively restored and improved. Also, our new article is in our popular How It Was Done format. The earliest Volvo P1800s were built in Great Britain! Body panels were produced by Pressed Steel at Linwood (near Glasgow) in Scotland. Cars were assembled by Jensen in West Bromwich, England. Later, Volvo moved production to Sweden. |

What a clean engine bay.
Better than factory. And a great stance. Ivor |

Excellent work on a beautiful, timeless car. Always loved the wagon version.

I love this car! I would do something about that air cleaner though, it looks like something I would install, amateurish!

Re: New to the Gallery: Larry's British-built P1800 V8
while i was stationed at ft sill ok in 1967-1969 there was a similar model volvo powered by a modified 260 cubic inch ford v8. i had just installed a 289 ci ford motor in my austin healey bn6. i traded motors with the owner of the volvo because the 260 had really nice mods. the owner of the volvo was a lieutenant from california i believe and the volvo was light blue or gray in color. i wonder if there might be any connection????
