My Ongoing Affair With The Rover
1970 3500S NADA, Bought it thinking the engine would be a nice transplant to an MG. Got it home and decided I liked the way it looked and ran, even with +200K on the engine. Decided to R&R the old beauty. Its a rolling project currently with brakes redone and rebuilt tranny sourced (BW35). Now has rebuilt 3.5 L with fast cam and 3.9 heads and Holley 4 bbl. Currently 'running in' the engine and sorting various issues. Still a unique ride and with power steering and A/C, my old old body enjoys having more amenities. Lovely weather this week in the Napa Valley so putting a few miles on her, went looking for photo ops yesterday.

Re: My Ongoing Affair With The Rover
Good save vs pulling an engine out of a wreck or rollover.
The winery just a bit north from the island in S.F. bay I call home......~~=o&o>....... |

Re: My Ongoing Affair With The Rover
...and they are like eating peanuts..can't just have one! Found this red NADA in Portland. Got the engine rebuilt with 4.0L heads, fast road cam and upgrades to engine and tranny. lots of new parts and feels like showroom tight. Magstar wheels with new rubber. Sundym window tint. Has A/C. but that is next project to get working. Have it entered in the Blackhawk museums al British car show Oct 20th.

Re: My Ongoing Affair With The Rover, got mid-engine ?
Under what-if category, that one-off the factory built, on a shoe-string ? Styling was, um-homey, to be kind? Maybe it was their answer to the 914 Porsche ? All the performance spec's and economy beat the Jag, and so being BMC, it was killed/sad.
