Right idea, wrong details
So a couple years ago I finished a year-long rebuild of an '83 RX-7, retaining maybe 5% of the Mazda parts, mostly the shell, the interior, and the gas tank. Everything else got replaced, by me, with upgrades from other sources.
Engine: '96 Camaro 3.8L V6 Transmission: '94 Camaro T5 manual Rear axle housing: '94 GMC Jimmy 4x4 Rear axle shafts: late-'80s Bronco II left-side Limited Slip differential: '93 Camaro Z28 Ring and Pinion gears: '86 Monte Carlo 2.29:1 IFS / P.S. '87 RX-7 FC Front calipers: Mercedes S430 / Brembo 4-piston Rear calipers: '84 Trans Am WS6 Rotors: Napa Premium, 11.75" front, 11.3" rear Rear suspension: my own custom panhard / 3-link Driveshaft: '86 Camaro shortened 3.5" and re-balanced Radiator: Summit Racing 26x19x2.25" aluminum Wheels: Raceline 15x7, 5x114.3, +40 Tires: I started with 195/60 front, 225/60 rear, switched to 205/50 front and rear et cetera |
