Anyone in Palmdale CA? - 1963 Jaguar S type + sbc
This car is of interest to me
[www.ebay.co.uk] but the seller has zero feedback and the photos are poor. Looks as if it's been sitting a while. Wouldn't want to find I've bought a backyard rustheap. Does anyone live nearby who could go and take a look at it for me? More than expenses happily paid. Or know a shop that might make an inspection? I see quite a few shops in the area, but no idea of their abilities, although Ace Customs in St Clarita looks promising [www.acecustoms.com] Thankyou Ivor |

Now that could be a find. Love those old Jag sedans.

No go.
The seller doesn't reply to questions. And it has a 'Reconstructed' title, which I'm told will make it pretty well impossible to register over here. Unfortunately the Gubmt is interfering much more nowadays in the custom/hotrod hobby, and importing a modified historic car is now very difficult. So no go. Shame Ivor |

Relisted.
[www.ebay.co.uk] Seller says it has brake problems. Which may make the claim in the ad that it 'runs good' the truth but crucially not the whole truth. Apparently it was converted last year by 'a friend'. In the process the original engine was stolen, so it is said, and after the insurer paid out the car got a Reconstructed title, presumably meaning that the engine was worth more than the car. Anyway, as I've said, sadly not for me. Ivor |
