Jag 420 SBC+overdrive auto.
This fully restored and very nice looking 420 from 1968, has a 305 + 4-speed overdrive auto. Don't bother asking the owner which auto it has, he's not a 'car guy'..
OK, the wheel trims, OK. But otherwise. It's had a ton of money spent. Most Jags of that era are either rustheaps or $$$$, but this one looks really good. The interior with its Teddy Bear upholstery is unusual but I suppose it's practical After all, you know how it is with leather, hot in summer, cold in winter, splits, cracks. Yes, I'd prefer leather, but then I'm a masochist. The engine was put in five years ago when the car was restored. Nice installation, clean, no wiring spaghetti, no fuel injection to go wrong, clean as if it were factory. Judging by the condition of the undercarriage, it's had little use since. Now, the 305 is perhaps not everyone's favourite SBC, but I believe a 350 would fit the same mounts. Although as a cruiser you may be happy as it is. Anyway, there it is, in Canada, Ontario. No reserve sale, I think it's going to be a steal, what with that funny interior. Just wish it was going to be me that steals it. Yes, I bid on it, but realistically I have too much other stuff going on to start with another car. Two days to go, be quick. [www.ebay.co.uk] Ivor Edited 1 time(s). Re: Jag 420 SBC+AOD no reserve.
Looks nicely done save the cheapy wire wheel covers. Teddy bear interior looks well done but at least should have been naugahyde

Re: Jag 420 SBC+700R4 no reserve.
It's back.
Even less detail than last time, and over twice the ask. Some people just don't help themselves. [www.ebay.co.uk] But at least someone has told him the trans is a 700R4. Which is good. Ivor |
