Hello, having read an old thread on Daimler Dart SP250 V8 upgrades where someone was able to bore and stroke it to 3.3-litres+. Am curious to know if anyone else has managed to do the same with the even rarer 4.5-litre Daimler V8 and has been able to discover its natural displacement limit?

Jaguar at one time was said to have looked at a 290+ hp 5-litre version during the development of the Mk10 before the idea was dismissed when it outperformed the 3.8-litre XK6, yet how much larger could the Daimler V8 have feasibly grown beyond 5-litres?

Another fascinating tidbit would be that the true output of the 4.5-litre V8 was actually said to be underestimated by some 30-40 hp, since Daimler's dyno was limited to 220 hp.
