Owner: L kinser
City: pdx
Car Model: 1975 mgb
Engine: 305 4bolt rover

Engine: for my MGB I feel compelled to use the "proper" engine. The one that says MG on the factory valve covers and was an option in an MGB from the factory at one time. So even if though it cost a bit more than an alum head, iron block ford I went Buick/rover. The fact that it has legacy as the ONLY stock block (olds) to win Two Formula 1 championships is also pretty cool... a coup that will certainly never be repeated. The only issue is that I like American v8's and would like SBC/ SBF power and thats not so easy with the Rover. The 305 Rover can make the numbers of a premium build 302 Ford and the bonus is being 60-80 lbs lighter. It takes effort though... This is a sonic checked 4 bolt rover, Darton top hat sleeves bored to 96.01, polished nitride 300 buick crank with a 86.36 stroke, 6.0inch chevy Nascar carillo rods, gives a nice sweet 1.74 C/Rod ratio, JE 13-1 pop ups, ported polished buick 300 heads with oversized 1.73 and 1.54 valves, Muti layer steel cometic gasket, all ARP studs, all thread serts,Harcourt single plane hi-rise, 650 alcohol Quick fuel e-85 mechanical double pumper, full Aeromotive ethanol compliant fuel system, Foam ATL cell tank, Erson roller cam(big.bad...)Venier gear, true roller chain, Smith Bros push rods, crane roller rockers, rocker shaft outrigger ends, windage tray, teflon crank scraper, extra block oiling mods, distributer gear squirt feed, external block drain backs, Accusump, Menziere electric water pump, Light weight Jones race alt, Mini starter Hi torque, Billet pulley and Serpentine belt, Msd Dist and box. Oh yeah.... all topped with finned MG valve covers! I have my own 100 gallon Still and this is an E-98 engine only, with provision for propane as a duel fuel later. google the octane ratings, also clean fuels help mitigate pollution, Global Warming...etc. NOT DYNOED but I expect 325-350 at the wheels. utube Wedge shop dyno bad8 tr8, pretty much same build...

Cooling: Aluminum Rad, Taurus elec fan

Exhaust: 4 into 1 tube headers

Transmission: T5 Borg/W chevy, B&M shifter

Rear Axle: 8.75in chrysler sure-grip 489 case w/ 3.55 gears narrowed, with wilwood discs and 4pot calipers total weight 180lbs vs.165 lbs MGB with drums. Fiberglass springs do save 20lbs after factoring in trailing arms and panhard rod. Ends up being about same unsprung weight as stock. .. Of course the very large wheel tire combo adds more....

Front Susp.: Fabtek Dave Headley full race susp, Carrera coilovers, drop spindle, hollow sway bar, etc on 5 on 4.5 aluminum hubs

Rear Susp.: Composite Fiberglass monoleaf springs, trailing arms, Panhard rod, GAZ shocks, urethane bushings

Brakes: wilwood six piston front, 4 piston rear
(master) wilwood dual with balance bar
(front) 13 inch rotors
(rear)12inch

Wheels/Tires: special built Team III E/T (minilite look) with custom offsets front and rear, 17x9 and 245/45/17 Dunlop Dirrezza star specs

Body Mods: lightened 1900lb goal. Fiberglass doors, trunk, fenders, Flared, C alum hood, Plexi windows, cut down screen

Interior: Red Wilton English wool loop white piping, Mk 1 red leather seats white piping, headrests built into cage

Electrical: wires twisted together and black tape. ..just kidding.

Couple of previous fun cars I built
Lotus 11 replica e-85 supercharged 2.0 litre MGB engine 13.9 in 1/4 not that fast but not bad for tractor motor either
The C GTS replica with 215 buick 14.4 in 1/4
So Now... Pics of project being put together forthcoming. Goal, hoping to be done this time next year. We'll see...
