I am planing on installing an LS engine in my Alpine. Does any one know witch long tube heads will fit. The car will also have twin rear mounted turbos.

LS is way too big. The only way it will fit is if you completely remove firewall and inner fenders and drop the body over it. You could do a Morrison front and rear subframe and make the center rails the same as the Sunbeam. Cut the bottom off the Sunbeam rails so it fits over the new ones. Good luck with that!

Thank you for your imput. I have extensive fabrication skills. I know that the fire wall will have to be moved and I will have to go to rack and pinion steering. I will also be doing a host of other modifications to accomplish the job.

I do not know how much you are willing to pay for an LS engine from what I have heard they are getting quite pricey. If you have chosen the LS motor because it is light weight then another option is to go with an aluminum Ford small block.

There may be places that sell these for less if you shop around.
What is the purpose of this creation?
Is this car for racing only?
Is this car for racing/street use?
Is this car for street use only?
If this car will fall in the third category then you may need to rethink how much work it will involve. There are easier ways to get street cars to go real fast.
I wish you the best on this.

Cheers

The Green Meanie is probably my fault since the person that is building is nuts about my Twin Turbo Tiger. He used to be my neighbor in Las Cruces.
I met him when he was cruising in his blown small block S-10 truck, and then found out he only lived a 1/2 mile from me, so for about the next three years we became good friends and that's when i found how good of a Fabricator he is his when he put a big block with a blower in place of the small blk, work is impeccable.
We kept sharing ideas on building a sunbeam with a ls motor and of coarse the twin turbos.
Then he moved back to Georgia and I really sorta thought the idea was going to die and after talking to him one day he ask where he could get a Sunbeam Alpine so i called my freind Eric and he had a Alpine for sale so I hooked him up with Erick and went and pick it up.
So now he is going to attack it, it might take a while and I'm sure when he gets into it will be a outstanding build and really fast and will want to challenge my TTT.
O well there's always someone fast

Jerry, Sounds like he has the skills. I hope to follow his build here. We see a lot of guys that have big dreams but not the skill and money to complete a difficult project like that. So we try to be helpful and steer them towards a simpler build. I was serious about the Morrison front and rear subframes earlier and without the firewall and inner fenders, plenty of room to work. You could add aluminum later. My brother and I did a Chevy Vega Pro Gas car that way years ago.
