Quaife Modification

I have a Quaife ATB differential for an MGB tube type axle, and was wondering if anyone has had any experience modifying one to fit the MGC 3.31 CWP set.

From looking at the technical drawings on the Quaife website it looks like the only difference between the MGB and MGC units is that the bearing / crown wheel flange on the B units is .730 inches thick and on the C units it measures .510 in.

Does anyone know if the B unit can be machined down to the smaller C dimension? And if so, how would you machine it?
Lathe etc?

Matt,
This may be of no help but I do know that to install a 3.3 or 3.0 CW on an MGB carrier the carrier must be machined. The 3.7 MGC CW used an MGB spec carrier.
