In tank fuel pump installation.
Hi,
I have an 80 MGB that is getting a 2006 LX9 V6. I am trying to figure out how to put a HP fuel pump in the system. I've read Kelly Stevenson's installation article. I have questions for Kelly Stevenson regarding the installation of an in tank fuel pump. I was wondering how he came to use a 99 Mailbu pump and if a newer Malibu (say a 2000-2005) pump would work as well. What is the depth of the 77-80 MGB tank and how far does the Malibu pump hang down? Would it be possible to put a HP in- tank pump in a horizontal position and utilize the stock MG sender location installation for a HP pump install? I'll send Kelly a PM but would like to put it out for other input. I also read about the install done with the VW pump that sounded workable as well. Does anyone have other experiences with their projects? Thanks for any help. Tim |

Re: In tank fuel pump installation.
The 99 Malibu choice was fate. One of my salvage yard owner friends gave me a complete tank to try. It just worked! ck your PM's

Re: In tank fuel pump installation.
Sorry, I have two many windows open and posting in the wrong sections- well, that is if you don't mind reading about axles in a second on fuel pump installation.
Take a look at the Classifieds section regarding tanks. We have a special ending soon you might consider... Now to place my true post on the hub to hub post. Dohh! -BMC. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/12/2011 12:13AM by BMC. |
