road draft vs. pcv

like to hear all the input on road draft breather systems versus pcv...read an interesting article in the magazine section but would like to hear real world experience.....I have a road draft....don/t have to worry about lean/rich issues of pcv but then it leaves a real mess all over the under chassis & I notice oil drips when its parked, what are guys using and experiences?

I converted my road draft to PCV on my 63 260 Ford V8.Just made a metal patch with gasket and PCV valve cover grommet.I ran the hose to the power brake fitting on intake.Worked great through 2 rebuilds. Here is a picture of my motor, with the breather in front and the PCV in back. It works real well.

My original was an early 289 pcv. I am going to use a newer more compact one like this:

mgb 260.....did you attach the pvc to your valve cover?.....and did you find you had to re-set mixture, timing etc. when you had the gases rerouted to carb?

No,The PCV is right where the road draft tube was. 3/8" hose from the PCV to vacuum (power brake fitting). Might have turned the mixture screws a little bit, It was over 10 years ago. You do need a breather, mine is coming out the front cover.Breather in valve cover would work. You could put PCV in one valve cover and breather in the other, but you would have to block off where the road draft tube was. It just made more sense to put the PCV valve where the road draft tube was.

Thats what I figured....I might fool around with that or just be a dirty polluter and spill it on the road....mind you how clean are we V8 guys anyway....ha,ha....maybe someone will eventually come out with the hi-po electric mgb....(hmmm..not a bad idea)
