4AGE Install

The Toyota twincam install into my 61 Midget has begun!

The shop is installing a "JDM" 4AGE 20 valve engine. The motor is the "Blacktop" version that comes equipped from the factory with Individual Throttle Bodies (ITBs) and is advertised by Toyota to produce 165hp.
Transmission will be the Corolla GTS 5 speed "T-50" and the car will also be receiving a rear axle assy from the same GTS that includes an LSD diff.

This should be a blast once it is finished.

I dropped the car off this afternoon and the 1098 and trans was out of the car about three hours later!

Thanks Brad,

I am really, really excited about this thing.

My next project idea is to build a Lotus Elan S2 out of bits and use a Suzuki Hayabusa motor. Already located most everything I need.

Jay

Let me know when you get the Midget running, I should be able to drive up in my 350 MGB very soon, a few minor issues to sort out.

That is going to be pretty d**n cool. I had several spridgets in the day and they're fun cars even with warmed over 1275 cc.

Have fun......

Will do Brad!

The 64 MGB is running pretty well now but its 2 feet in the air with all the suspension off so the spindles could be rebuilt and the whole thing re-assembled with poly bushings as mine were smashed. Also got a set of OE rear springs so the rear ride height won't look so ridiculous.

Then,

On the other side of the garage,

The 69 Lotus Elan is up on ramps so I can install a full width aluminum "Griffin" radiator. Dug through the box, hmmmmm, no brackets! so it has been apart for 4 days while the local fabricator guy bends me up some nice side bracketry. This car is pretty quick for all stock but does not like this air when up in the mountains above Boulder and I am tired of pulling over waiting for it to cool back down.

I beleive I am starting to test my wifes patience!
