Please help me identify this MGB V8
I should know who built this car, but I don't.
I've discovered old photos of it on a CD-ROM from BritishV8 2007, and I'd like to add them to the photo gallery. It seems to bear some strong resemblances to four cars already in the gallery (all from Ohio) 1.) Bernie Posey's 1979 MGB with 3.9L Rover V8 2.) Jim Fisher's 1977 MGB with Buick 215 V8 3.) Jeff Foote's 1977 MGB with 3.9L Rover V8 4.) Harvey Leichti's 1971 MGB-GT with Rover 3.5L V8 note: bonnet louvers, Fiero seats, shaved marker lights, slots note: rubber-bumper era brakes, block header headers, distinctive fan thermostat placement |

I had the same brakes on my 1974 CB roadster. Along with the grille, maybe its a 74 ?

Re: Please help me identify this MGB V8
Mike, happy new year, hope you had a joyous holiday season. That good looking V8 belongs to Jim Wehe of Olmsted Falls, OH. It's a 1977 with a 215 Buick with a 700R4 automatic trans. He's now recuperating from a stroke suffered in early Dec., the prognosis looks good.

Re: Please help me identify this MGB V8
Thanks!
Now I know I'm losing my mind... those photos are already in the gallery, here: Jim Wehe's 1962 Buick 215 Powered 77 MGB I wonder if the automatic transmission is a newer change. In the photos I see a clutch pedal and a clutch master cylinder. I'm not sure where/when I got the information that the car had a T5, but that's what's I put in the write-up years ago. I hope Jim recovers well, and can enjoy his MGB again fully when Spring comes. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/04/2014 11:54AM by Moderator. |
