Hi, Can someone tell me if a Range Rover P38 ENGINE 4.0 liter from 95 vehicle fit into a 79 MGB?

Is the 4.0 same physical dimensions as the 3.5 liter older SD 1 rover engines?.

thanks
peter

Welcome Peter!

The 3.5 and 4.0 engine blocks are the same physical size. The cylinder heads are similar too, except for a couple extra accessory bosses. The real and practical difference is at the front (timing chain) cover and oil pump. Most people convert the 4.0 to an earlier style front cover.

If you use the Google box at the top of this page and try various keyword combinations, you should be able to find more detailed information on this site about front cover options as well as mountains of info about remote oil filter mounting and intake/exhaust manifolds.
