Buick215
I purchased a Buick 215 engine and plan on also using a T5 trans. This will be my first V8 swap and I am trying to decide what chassis to use. I am looking at either a rubber bumper MGB that I will covert to a chrome bumper car or the Triumph TR6 or 4. So I am looking for opinions on what chassis is the easiest to do this swap?

Considering the RB MGB is already configured for the 215 that would be the easiest. You will have some work in converting to CB specs of course but the path is clearly marked and there are plenty of options.
The TR guys should be able to give you some feedback on what is involved there. Have you reviewed the HIWD files yet? Jim |

Mark, go to photo galleries in the header above, and click on the particular sports car you are interested in converting...there will be many conversions for you to study.

I was pleasantly surprised after I bought my TR7. Their build quality may have been poor, and they cut some corners to mass produce them cheaper, but I found a lot to like. It handles good in stock form even with the stock 13" tires. Driving position is pretty comfortable. The extra width gives you more elbow room inside, plus more room for a v8. I am really anxious to get mine back on the road.

Plus, you can still get a rust free one pretty cheap. Crappy 2.0 engines typically were only good for about 80,000 miles, so there should be plenty of swap candidates. Tim Nagy has fiberglass kits to dress up the body. I'm not sure what Dave Craddock does for them, I haven't talked to him about TRs.
