Car was supposed to be ready this past Saturday, but it wasn't... it was close, but they hadn't finished. They'd decided the under side of the hood looked good like the pic below. It's interesting, but I prefer it all body color so they had to spray it. And, they hadn't finished buffing out the body. Talked with them today & they say it's ready for pick up tomorrow. I'm pretty confident it will be so I'm going to go ahead & rent a trailer to go get it tomorrow after work.

It looks good so far.

One of the best tips I was given was to go around all the threads with a tap to clear the paint out before I started to put the car back together. I would add to that wax injecting the sills etc. but perhaps in Texas you don't need to bother with that.

Good luck, Rob. Think you made the right choice on the underhood.

Ok, brought it home. Several small pieces weren't buffed out yet -- glove box door, curved piece that goes in front of the pedal box, some plates to direct air at the radiator so I'll have to go back & get them on Monday, but have it home & starting on the brake lines & clutch line this weekend. Lot's to do in short order and I have some vacation time I can take if needed. Of course, if anyone is going to be out this way, there's beer in the fridge!
