MGB V8 ROADSTER
Posted by: Obanvanman

Hi, I wonder if any one can help me please.

I am returning from oversea shortly and will be on the hunt eventually for a V8.

My question is, did the MG factory make an official V8 Roadster.
I know Costello did and there are lots of conversions, but did MG make any?
If they did is there a list of no's/proof of identity etc.

Many thanks

Kevin

There were no factory MGB V8 roadsters. There was the RV8 roadster in the mid 1990s.

The factory cars were all GT versions. None were officially exported to the US.

If you'd like to read up on the factory V8 program or learn about Costello V8s, you may find this index page helpful:

Coincidentally, this LHD MG RV8 was at Ancaster a couple of weeks ago.

Who owns that RV8, Graham? Do you know if the conversion was done in Holland?

Midlothian is a suburb of Dallas. It's not too far from Houston. If you buy it and need a place to store it till you get back, I have room in my new garage. There are several other BritishV8 guys in the Dallas, Houston, Waco areas.
