Opened the box to a liquid filled pressure gauge for under the hood that I'd bought a while back & there's oil all over it -- like it leaked out. Defective?

Rob, since the gauge is oil filled, I would hesitate to use it. Contact customer service and ask for exchange.
BTY, may as well get a high pressure if you plan to use EFI later.
