MGB, Supercharged GM Ecotec for sale
No skin in the game here, but might be worth a look.

Re: MGB, GM Turbo for sale
Very nice.
A 1967 B did not have a trunk light. Not sure about UK, but I doubt it. I have never seen a fender crack in that location by the bonnet. Fixed your title, Don. ;) |

It certainly is a handsome car, with many very nice modifications.
Quote: It appears to have anti-burst pins on the doors too. Aren't those a 1977-80 (only) safety feature? |

Quote: Yes. Late RB B converted to RHD? Quote: Trying to pass it off as '67 restored is fraudulent. I do like it, though. |

Re: MGB, Supercharged GM Ecotec for sale
To bad they are listing it as a 67, maybe they back dated the VIN to get around the emissions laws for their state?
I have a 67 and I see quite a few differences namely the doors and trans tunnel. As for the anti-burst pins, my 73 V8 has them so they at least go back to 1973. Interestingly enough, I'm finally getting around to starting on restoring my 68 CGT and it does not have anti-burst pins. I do have a set of GT doors that have been sitting around in the attic for about 20 years that I'm going to use and they have anti-burst pins. Not sure what year BGT the doors are from, but I believe that they quit making the GT in 1974 1/2. Since I'm working on the doors now, I'm debating weather to weld up the anti-burst pin holes, or actually add them to the CGT. Most likely going to weld up the holes so that the doors appear more stock. Bill |

Re: MGB, Supercharged GM Ecotec for sale
Either the burst pins were added to your '73 or your doors are not original, either, Bill. ;) It is a 77-80 only feature.
Curious who did the dropped spindles, as the upper A-arms with the adjustable camber is pretty funky. |

Re: MGB, Supercharged GM Ecotec for sale
I've always assumed that the burst pin was the safety pin that is mounted on the door and engages into a receiver mounted on B-post. These were used on 73 through 1980
We must be talking about two different parts eh Carl, but then it wouldn't be the first time that I have been confused!;-) |

According to Clausager, burst pins were added in August 1972 to NA spec cars. I know that my original '76 has them.

Well, that makes 2 of you now. Interesting.
Moss Motor states 1977-80, [mossmotors.com] Lloyd Faust says burst hardware started in model year 1973. Not gonna argue with Lloyd or Clausager or you & Bill. :) |
