Surprised you haven't gotten a reply already. Several Rover V8's in CA. Is yours fuel injected or carb?

Robert Milner comes to mind.........

...and he claims it's 100% California emission legal. Might be worth a call for details.

Thanks for your input. I think cars before 76 are smog exempt. Robert Milner MG V8 is a 1967 GT. My car is a carb, not injected.

I think you're out of luck. Cars of that age need to be original and have all emissions equipement in place and working and if modified the modified pieces need to have CARB approval. Short of changing the body to an earlier model I doubt if you can pass the smog inspection and get it registered.

All vehicles from 1975 and earlier, are exemp from smog inspections, not form smog equipement.
1966 to 75 are requireto have all of the smog equipemnt that came with the vehicle on those years.
1966 an eal;rier are totally exempt.

What does it mean. It means that you can register your car smog or not smog equipment. If stoped by the hwy patrol and inspected, your B v8 can be taken away in a flat bed to the yard. this is rare but it does happen to those that like to do burn outs and are driving crasy. This is rare on classics such as your V8 B. It is aim at the rice burners and crazy to iligal big block Camaros. I have only seen one happen were the took the car away. Many, many 70's Mopar, Chev fords are not legal and are no bother by the Hwy Patrol.
