Wheel backspace

Would anybody who is running 15X7 or 15X8 wheels with 55 or 60 series tires be good enough to let me know the distance between the hub mount side of their wheel and the back of the rim? As I check on wheels I'm finding a number of vendors using the term backspace and offset synonymously. Others are quoting backspace +/- offset to describe their product. My interest lies with a set of wheels with 3.5 inch backspace (offset not applied to measurement). I'd like to get a handle on what others have mounted.

Thx!

Wanting a 3.5" backspace on a 7" rim suggests that you want about 1/2" of negative offset.
FWIW, I'm running 15x7 Panasports with 22mm (7/8") positive offset - that equates to a 4-7/8" backspace.

Attached is a wheel offset/backspace chart to help you.

Paul,

Have looked at your car in the gallery many times as I've waffled about whether or not to use flares. 20 years ago I'd have loved to be able to afford Minilites on my GT. Same colour as your car. I'm considering wires now. The problem I'm having is with sales people seemingly using the terms offset and backspace interchangeably.

Thx.
