I just aquired a 77mgb and after driving it for about 2 week Ive decided the stock 4 banger just doesnt have enough balls for me. Ive seen many pictures and videos of people putting ford 302s in these little cars. i was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction in which to get started. I have the car and the motor. I just need to kniw how to mate the 2 together... please help....

Contact Pete Mantell -- info here... [www.britishv8.org]

Pete has a kit with the front crossmember modified for oil pan clearance & motor mounts attached, headers, & trans cross member.

Check the article archives here: [www.britishv8.org] There are many articles about Ford conversions, including three or four by Pete. You'll also find photos of headers made specifically for the job and sold by Ted Lathrop at FastCars. (The FastCars front suspension can also be ordered with motor mounts for a Ford 302 pre-installed.)

Welcome Luke

Your opening statement about the pitiful 4 banger is rite on

The 302 swap a great idea, and a lot of work, my advise is read every 302 "How it was done" article on this site, write down all of your questions ask on here and re-read above mention articles.

A phone call to both above mentioned Companies is also a great idea after putting your list of questions together.

Again welcome and have fun with it
