I'm Always Full of Questions
I have two questions:
1: I was looking at Shaun Holmes beautiful MGC-GT and as I have a little distributor clearance issue was wandering if a C hood would fit my 72 B, given that I could even find one of course. 2: The piece between the square under dash cross brace, which I need to modify for the ac/heat/def unit anyway, and the transmission tunnel, that the back of the radio goes through, I’m sure there is some structural reason for it being there, but what would happen if it were removed. I have a wood shop and have been thinking of making a flat wood dash like earlier models and would look much better with that piece removed. Maybe veneered bubinga or santos mahogany. "P" |

Paul
Do you have the shorter Ford Distributor, not sure what ignition-Intake you are running but there are shorter ones in some Models As to the hood I believe that there are after market "C" hoods out there but I think the bump is to far forward for the Dizzy clearance |

Re: I'm Always Full of Questions
I have a ProComp 7002 distributor which sets about ever with the hood cross brace and a Ford Typhoon Aluminum Hi-Rise manifold 910-11275-PLN from Speedway. I'll give the hood a little more thought and check out the aftermarket C hoods. Thanks a lot for the info Joe, "P"

Re: I'm Always Full of Questions
check Graham's write up. Don't recall what year range but he's using a a '70's ford oem one that is pretty short. MSD also has a short billet distributor but it's more expensive.

Re: I'm Always Full of Questions
I saw Graham's write up and have been looking for an earily Ford distributor. Besides being tall I have other issues with the 7002 but was trying to find a way to use a distributor I have already paid for. My motor is a 79 and had the perfect distributor coming out of the donor car but it was in such bad shape I tossed it; as it turns out, probably a bad idea! "P"

Oh ! Really ! I'm always full of something else !
Paul, Why don't you cut the top of the distributor off and let it only drive the oil pump? William |
