Being a Chevy guy with a 5.0 how do I tell if I have a short water pump?

It's an aftermarket Ford Racing water pump. I don't think it was used on any stock ford small blocks.
If you measure from the back of the pump to the pulley face it will be 4.5 inches. The stock 302 pump is 6 inches.
Here's the link to the pump:

Have a look at these articles also, quite a few pictures showing the differences.

I could be wrong but didn't the 94/95 mustangs and the Tbirds that had a 302 use the short nose pump?

Hi Rob,

Ford did use a short nose pump on the 94/95 Mustang and Explorer. It was a reverse rotation type and had to be used with a serpentine belt and special timing cover.

Cheers, Pete

Thanks Pete, mine is from NAPA so I'm sure it's the long nose but for a set of pulleys like those I might ne willing to replace my set up in the future. Thanks for the links. "P"
