RE Adapt VDO Speedo to Rover 5 Speed rporter

Checkout Speedhut Custom Gauges, they can supply a GPS speedo. You will need no wiring or cable.

Wow I have already committed myself to sensor VDO but I sure would have thought about the GPS Speedo what a good idea.

The wave of the future, but still pretty pricey I think.

I had a Nordskog GPS speedo in my Europa. It was intended to be a marine piece but looked pretty good with the other guages.
It was deadly accurate although it took a while to activate after starting. Usually 2 or 3 mins. Not a big deal but kind of annoying. They may have improved in the last few years but worth checking out first.

Cheers
Fred

Re: VDO Speedo.

I also wish I had known about these units before I went to all the trouble of making my own adaptor for the sender. When you deduct the cost of the sender the price seems reasonable enough. Along with a list of other features they claim 2/3 seconds delay in start up.
