Re: Did a short test drive today
I'm a little lower than I thought... I measured from center of hubs to the bend where the top of the chrome would be... Probably an extra 1/2" lower than I'd noted earlier based on that. Easy to adjust so that's what I'm going to do 1st.

Quote: Rob, height adjustment is a good thing to have.....new suspensions tend to do some settling over the years. I fact this Winter while I had my ' 1" lower coil springs' out, I happen to measure them vs new - they had settled over 3/8" which translates into a 1/2" to 5/8" drop in ride height. |

Re: Did a short test drive today
Rob, have you thought about leaving the bumpers off and putting a rubber strip in front and small quick jack Cobra style bumperettes front and back. I'm thinking about making some to fit the MGB if there is any interest. Picture of Cobra "quick jack" bumperettes:

Re: Did a short test drive today
Rob,
I had to raise the front of my 6 after intalling 1" lowering springs. The first time going down the curb, my tires rubbed so hard that the car almost wouldn't move. Installed 3/4" spacers, the car sits level now + rolled the fender lip in for more clearance. I'm running 245 tires so that is alot of my problem. As for your ride! "The stance couldn't look any better". I would try to get the clearance in the exhaust worked out. Post some photos after you raise your ride for us all to see! After the meet you can deal with the exhaust later if you like where it is now! You may want to just keep a higher ride for less worries as Bill stated. "Looking real good Rob" |

Re: Did a short test drive today
Thanks guys. I raised the car up a bit. Will ultimately need to adjust the exhaust to get it tighter. I wanted to avoid that because I had the entire exhaust coated... modifying will likely mean having to redo it. It didn't look like it was hanging too low at the time but it must not have been at ride height at the exhaust shop. Anyway, for now I have about 4" of clearance & will deal with it. Gonna focus on the brake master so I can drive it.

Re: Did a short test drive today
I'm looking to do the Quick jack style, has anyone else done it to their B? My friend around the block had suggested using them awhile back and so far this is the second time I've seen them in a picture of an AC. I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount and keep them from twisting over. I have the rear bumper bracket studs set to stick out the rear rolled pan.
Sorry for the Thread Hijack Rob. |

Re: Did a short test drive today
Hey John, I plan on 3/8" flat bar through the bumper slots and just copying the Cobra shape and size, also 3/8". Rear would be slotted like front and flat bar also. Top part would be a bit shorter, wider,no angle. Mounting with 2 5/8" grade 8 bolts and nuts straight through flat bar. Here are some good photos of Stainless Steel ones. Notice these are mounted backwards from the other one, I think it looks better this way. Would also look good just painted black or silver.
