I have a midget tub I picked up and forgot the year. Is there anyone that can ID the year for me based on the VIN or anything that would tip me off to the year? Thanks

Do you have a Moss catalog? There will be a couple pages in it with detailed info on identifying and cross-referencing production codes, dates, and numbers from the various VIN, chassis, and engine plates. I don't know Midgets very well, but I expect they're kinda similar to MGB... and I believe for MGBs produced from 1970 on the date and month of production are stamped on a plate that can be found on the driver-side door jam. If the windshield is still with the tub, you can also date production by a code on the glass. As for sheetmetal changes from series to series, a little of that is included in this article: [www.britishv8.org]
