Another of my endless dumb questions I guess, but does anyone know the rear end ratio of a 1972 MGB-GT non-overdrive.

All four cylinder MGBs came standard with 3.909:1 rear axles.

Curtis is spot on. One obscure exception was the rare (very limited production) mgb with automatic transmission. It was a 3.71 ratio.
