Just wanted to get familiar with this board, will probably be searching it a lot. I am bringing home a 1968 MGB-GT today. It was described as a "Rat Rod" in the advertisement. Doesn't look anything like the glorious, shiny show cars on the gallery. It really is pretty rough. The body is fairly rust free and straight, but does have a few minor dents. Someone put a lot of work into cutting the firewall and stuffing in a late 60's early 70's 302. I think the transmission is a T-10, but not sure. It has what looks like stock cast iron exhaust manifolds mounted upside down. They exit at the front then the exhaust curves around and through the wheel well to some very loud sidepipes. I will post pictures as soon as I can. Maybe someone might even recognize this car. Guy I'm getting it from has done a lot of work on the front suspension and brakes. Feel pretty confident in the mechanicals. Have always loved British sports cars. My dad and uncle's all had either MGB's or Triumph TR-4,5's when I was young. Since I will never be able to afford a Shelby Cobra this car will have to do. Traded an 89 Jeep Wrangler for it straight up. Think we both did well on the trade.

Sounds like an interesting project! Check out the Roadmaster thread from beginning to end for an example of a Ratrod turned into something special.

Picking up the car right after work today....Then will post some pics. It is a faded brown color with black primer. Black primer hood with a missing hood scoop and big hole in it. Has some fender flares that have been added but is running skinny tires right now. Looks kind of funny. It is rough as can be, but that 302 sounds AWESOME coming out the sidepipes....
