I swapped out the decals in the rear quarter windows and complied with Steve's recommendation that we remove the line of text describing the engine as 500hp/500tq by trimming that line out with an xacto knife.

Any chance we could route the car through Redford, MI?

Dave Craddock has a hood for it that he's waiting on a sketch and paint codes for.

OK guys, the car is all checked out and ready to go back on the road. So you need to figure out where it goes next but it can't just sit here.

Mechanically it is probably about as near perfect as it will ever be. Cosmetically there will always be room for improvement but it's very good. Electrically, well, what can I say? It still has wonky gages and bullet connectors bit it's otherwise solid. Drives real nice and I think it will be very reliable. A very pleasant car.

Somebody needs to come and get it.

And I don't foresee any reason why it should ever need to come back here. The conversion and the build is done.

No Kelley, the car just needs to be out in the public eye and it isn't doing that sitting in my garage.

Not what I meant; with all the engineering, work and untold time you contributed, the car should move to next phase and be maintained by the entire group. Thanks for your contributions.

I appreciate it Kelley.

Warm weather is back and it's time to go for visibility again.
I know PJ is willing to drive it out to Kansas, maybe that is the next step.
If nothing happens before MG2014 I can hand it off there, but it really should go somewhere else first.

I don't mind driving it. Heck, for the first time ever it is sitting in my primary garage and the truck is out under the awning. I enjoy driving it and I'll enjoy it until it leaves here. Until then it will be my daily driver. Finally at last, I feel it is dependable and comfortable enough for that and the remaining issues are minor enough to not really bother me.

But we didn't build it so that I could drive it out and about Florence, KY. Some of that is fine, but it needs to be widely seen. Plus I need the incentive to finish my own car and I'm not so sure that will be there as long as I can just go out and hop in the Roadmaster.

I can come out and deliver it to the next in line. Who's next?
I do think RM should be present for the service for a friend the Lumberjack.

Jim thank you for all you skill, dedication, and hard work!

Thank you PJ.
I agree, the car should be at Bill's ceremony.
It's ready to roll. Just finished the log book entries this morning. And btw, did I mention the MJ totally transforms the car's behavior? You're gonna like it.

The car sure draws a lot of attention, and of just the type we want. Seems like almost every time I stop there's a nice young fella or two asking if they can take a picture. It means taking a little time out of your busy day but I think it's worthwhile to pursue our goals of encouraging creativity in the young.

But I also think it is wise to have a "spiel" worked out ahead of time that is easily run through by rote. Towards that end I'd like to suggest a few key points you can work into your short presentation. Just a few lines can do it and with a couple of repetitions it's the easiest way.

- 1971 MGB-GT with 455 big block Buick V8
- Built and owned by a charity to encourage creativity in youth
- Has been on tour over 2 years, took 5 years to build.
- Members are nationwide and in other countries

Then add whatever else seems relevant to you. But if you get no more out than the first two lines we've achieved our objectives.

Any members want to be on the list for hosting the RM this year??

As far as I know, the next firm schedule date is to take Roadmaster to Bill Young's memorial service on May 17th in Kansas City. Is that correct?

Could somebody please have a memorial sticker made up for the car, something to the effect of "In Memory of Bill Young, Contributor and Former President" ?

Somehow we inadvertently left his name off the Contributor's list in the back window so we need something before it goes out to his Memorial Service.

I have just found out about a family event that requires my presence in Winston-Salem, NC Sunday morning May 18, 2014. That is the day after Bill Young's Memorial service. This is late notice, I know, but I just wanted everyone to know as we want the Roadmaster to be there for the service and I was planning to pick the car up from Jim and deliver it to Kansas. I can still make good on my offer if I do it a few days earlier than previously scheduled. I must get to the airport in time to be home Sat. 5-17-14.

If anyone else wants to drive RM from Jim's to Overland, KS please speak up.

I'm sorry about this, But some family activities must be higher priority.
PJ

I'm trying to set in place plans to drive RM From KY to MO on Mon 5/12 and Tues. 5/13.

If this all works out I would like to attend the St Louis MG club meeting May 12 and show everyone the RM

PJ, the 12th looks good and if you would like to stay overnight and get an early start, we have a very nice guest suite downstairs. The new exhaust gaskets are now on the car and it is much quieter.

That would be great to stay over, but I plan to arrive on Sunday the 11th and depart early Monday the 12th. I plan to show RM at the St Louis MG club meeting Monday evening then stay with John Mangles that night. On Tues. May 13th I will drive to Overland, KS and deliver the car to Bill Davidson.

Bill is talking about bringing the Roadmaster to French Lick (IN) for MG2014...then back to Kansas City....then out to the V8 meet.

We need someone to take her reigns in Colorado as she begins the journey west.

Who wants RM after the Meet in Colorado Springs?

I plan to fly to Colorado Springs, and might be able to drive RM to the next member, how about it Bill Guzman?

I'd love to see RM in French Lick also.
