Sounds like a good idea, especially since I haven't made up the lines yet. Guess I could also hook it up to the compressor clutch wire though.

This won't get finished for quite some time yet, but I needed the condensers to complete the under-hood work on the car and they were one of the last significant expenses... I hope. It's good to have that out of the way. Tax money put to its highest and best use. Maybe I should shop for a set of injectors next before I spend the little bit that is left.

Different but related topic... On a computer controlled car, it seems like idle speed is increased when A/C needs to engage compressor clutch. How is the extra load handled on a non computer carb car? Just set idle speed a little higher so it doesn't go too low whenever compressor kicks in or is there a more sophisticated answer?

On Edith's TR-7 there is a throttle jack, an electric solenoid that bumps the throttle arm. Since my car has Megasquirt, all I need is an input. Or not, since it will automatically compensate for the increased load.

And "Duh!" of course, the MS controls the radiator fans.

I am new here so if I am showing my ignorance please forgive.

We just purchased a 1971 MGB GT and restoration is in the plans. I am very eager to do a Power plant conversion. My first concern is A/C.

Is there any after market A/C kits? Perhaps Vintage Air? What i would love to do is purchase a system from some compatible A/C system from a parts yard? If so what would be the ideal choice to search out?

Again thanks for hearing my thoughts.

Rick

I sourced most all of my system from Nostalgic Air in Florida.
