Help transporting Jag IRS
I bought a complete '81 XJ rear suspension which is located in Juliet, Tennessee in the Nashville area. At the time Edith agreed that I could go with her on a business trip around the end of June and pick it up but now there seems to be some sort of problem with that which I can't seem to decipher. I'm still trying to make that work but if there was anyone coming up for a Roadmaster weekend who could bring it with them it'd sure help me out. I know that's a lot to ask, maybe too much. But I figured I'd toss it out there anyway. It's to go under my roadster as part of the 340 upgrade.

Looks like we'll be going down Sunday to pick it up. Edith is going to try to find a camping spot where we can spend the night and then come back. It's nice country, should be a good drive.

Sounds like a "Girls Weekend" to me. No hubbies allowed. |

Where is Joliet TN? We're going to Knoxville in a couple of weeks.

Re: Help transporting Jag IRS
Nashville. We'll be headed out in a couple hours, should be a fun trip. We camped out in the back yard last night as a warm-up. And no, I'll not comment any more on the "Girl's night out" thing. Some mysteries are best left unexplored. Doesn't mean I have to like it though.
Anyway, we should be headed back tomorrow with a '81 XJ6 IRS in good condition with posi and 2.88 gears. I'd rather had a little shorter gears but I know where to buy good used Dana 44 gear sets. Still, with the blown 340 and 2004r tranny I may just give it a try and see how I like it the way it is. Could be a real good combination. Jim |

Wow! very cool to have a truck that the factory puts your last name on it for you. I sure would buy a truck if it had my last name on it.
Can't wait to see that JAG IRS setup in the roadster. |

Re: Help transporting Jag IRS
Matthew (my 12 year old son) thought it was very funny to have a Jag IRS in the back of the truck (as in modified suspension, not as in parts being hauled). He worded it better than I did. As for the truck, I wasn't able to buy one new but hey, whatcha gonna do, huh? At least it ain't ugly.
