Hub caps for alloy wheels
I have noticed that some alloy wheels such as minilites and others have hub caps with the MG logo. Anyone have any idea where I might get some? I started a project to make some from billet Al, but it would be much simpler if I could buy some.
Thx, Edd Weninger |

Not sure, but i think most of the ones you've seen are the center caps that come with (or as options for) the wheels & the MG Logo in the middle adhesive backed mylar folks have had made up by local sign shops.

Re: Hub caps for alloy wheels
One of our British V8 sponsors, John Targett at Targett Motorsports, sells both genuine Minilite wheels and also Minator copies of the Minilite wheels. (The "Minilite replica" wheels that Moss Motors used-to-sell were made by Minator in England, but now Moss sells a Chinese fake Minator fake Minilite...)
Anyway... the Minator wheels have a thin stamped aluminum hubcap. It looks like this: (I recently sold these in the British V8 classifieds...) John would be happy to sell you EITHER the complete Minator replacement hub caps or alternatively the Minator/MG decals that you could install on some other hubcap. (Real Minilites have a different style of hubcap and it isn't offered with an MG logo, but I understand that some people have trimmed the Minator decal to fit the authentic Minilite hubcap.) If this sounds like it might help you... give John a call! Here's his contact info: |

Re: Hub caps for alloy wheels
Edd, another source for MG wheel logos is to use the MGB Rostyle logo which is available from several suppliers such as Moss and VB. It may be a little large in diameter for the Minilite cap, but they come on an aluminum disc which can be trimmed easily with a sanding disc to fit. I used some on my Midget's American Racing wheels and they have held up great for years now. Just used some silicone on the back side to stick them on.
A note for those using a wheel with a round raised center such as the American 200S or Libre style and can't find caps, try the center caps from a mid 70s to mid 80s GM car with the styled steel wheels. They came in both a shiny and brushed stainless finish and the MGB emblem fits pretty close with a little trimming. |

Quote: and Moss is also a British V8 sponsor! Their part number for the Rostyle decals is 462-720 ($1.55 ea.) |

I used metal center caps from the following site and then VB metal MG logo centers carefully filed to fit the cap.
