Anyone need a room for the Engine Swap (aka V8) meet?
I'd reserved my room months ago but am not going to be going after all. Primary reason is my car isn't ready but compounded is I'm now part of a project at work & the schedule is colliding with the meet dates. If anyone needs a room & wants the group rate, let me know. I'll ask the hotel (Country Inn & Suites) to hold the room I'm freeing up for you. You can reply here or send an email to the address in my profile.

Re: Anyone need a room for the Engine Swap (aka V8) meet?
I was hoping to get the car ready but it's not looking very likely at this point. I know Brian is working like mad trying to get the wiring done. I have no headers or header flanges yet and the engine sits to close to the steering shaft for the 'regular' shorty headers (it looks like we need to make some new motor mounts to get then engine a bit more to the passenger side). Between the steering shaft & the starter there is not much room in there for any pipes to go, although it does sit nicely in the center of the engine bay ;-)
I haven't decided if I'm going without the car or spend the vacation working on the car. Send me a note and we'll talk about the reservation. Unless someone steps up that knows for sure they are going. |

Rob - If your room is still available, I'll take it. I will be arriving on Sunday and will probably leave late Wednesday afternoon. Sending my registration and check out tomorrow - last minute but, better late that not at all!

Re: Anyone need a room for the Engine Swap (aka V8) meet?
Tony, i cancelled my room yesterday (Sunday) morning. If you haven't already, call the hotel (262-284-2100) & if no one else has grabbed it, you should be able to get it for the group rate. They told me after someone grabs that room, they only have 5 rooms left before being sold out & the 5 they have left are suites so a little more expensive. Good luck.

Bummer Rob,
Was hoping to meet you. Looks like I can only make it on Tues. anyway. Am planning on just driving up early and staying for the day. |

Re: Anyone need a room for the Engine Swap (aka V8) meet?
Thanks for responding Rob - I called this morning and your old room is gone already. If anyone else is making last minute plans to attend Meet, I found a Motel 8 (It's just me) for under $75 including tax located in Sauksville about 8 minutes away from Comfort Suites.

Some time ago, in the "Registrations" message thread (in the "pub" section), I pasted Paul's list of recommended alternate hotels:

I may have a room available due to grandchild being born same time. I won't give up my room unless I offer it to the group first.

Re: Anyone need a room for the Engine Swap (aka V8) meet?
Marc - Would love to see you make the Meet, but certainly understand the family commitment and the excitement of a new grandchild. I may be interested in your room, if I can cancel the one I reserved at Motel 8. I'm leaving town tomorrow (Thursday) a.m. and returning Monday p.m. and I won't have access to internet, but could probably call on Tuesday morning and cancel reservations. If I am unable to get your room no big deal, someone else may be making last minute plans to attend - you may want to post the availability of your room on the Pub thread.
Humm...maybe your daughter (in-law) can have the doctor conveniently induce labor now or after July16th - you could also whisper in her ear that Grandpa thinks that the timely name of 'Triumph' would be appropriate and should be strongly considered ;) Regards and Best Wishes, Tony Andrews |

Tony,
I will post it in both places and hopefully I will use it myself. No car this year, but its getting closer. Thanks, Marc |
