Hydraulic Car Lifts
I'm looking for a "small" lift so I can store 2 MGB's in a "one-car" garage - who has the best one for MGB's in the U.S.?

Re: Hydraulic Car Lifts
Don, take a look at Steve's site. I like his side mount lifts as they take up a little less room and allow for more working area in the shop if needed. [www.mgnuts.com]

Try this link: [www.eagleequip.com]
I bought my two-post from them, as did Pete Mantell. They have the four-post storage lifts you're looking for as well. |

Re: Hydraulic Car Lifts
I bought mine from Eagle as well. I have a two post and use it for storage as well as work.
I highly recommend them. Steve |

Re: Hydraulic Car Lifts
If I were in the market, I'd be checking the local Craigs List daily. Garages are always going in and out of business. This 2-post lift is apparently near you: [tulsa.craigslist.org]

Re: Hydraulic Car Lifts
BendPack in Ca. They are located about 5 miles from my house. I have been shopping for one also. I found the BendPack to have some good qualities.
Also in the Northen catalog, they have a new one in the market it is a 7000 lb and the cost is $1700 which is price to buy. BendPack install is $2100 |

Re: Hydraulic Car Lifts
Be sure to check your garage slab thickness vs. the lift requirements -- that's especially important with a 2 post lift so it doesn't topple over. If your slab is too thin I believe they can sink deeper peers where the posts are; you just have to plan for the extra expense. Also, Curtis is right, I'm not in the market right now, but have checked Craigslist in Hou a few times & there always seem to be 2-3 of them -- often they'll offer to help load &/or deliver it too which would save a bunch vs. paying for shipping.

Re: Hydraulic Car Lifts
My Eagle two-post is rated for 9,000 pounds. It operates on 220v. I got it delivered to the house for $1700 last August. Freight was included. I had to get it off of the semi and into the barn (used a tractor with an end-loader owned by Pete Mantell). As I had the barn built to my spec, and knew that a lift was in the future, I made certain when the slab was poured that it was of a sufficient thickness in that area.
