i was looking around on the internet for cars that i like so i could make a cool background for my computer. but i found this pic of a MGB GT V8 that i recognized from here and i really like that one so trying to get the full size pic for the background it took me it a site and that had a lot of cars i recognized from here and when i want to see the full pic it puts this thing over the pic so u cant copy it and i dont see any credit give. i just know there was a post about people just useing others pics just on here and not given credit not too long ago so i thaught i might mention it . i spent hours looking at all the cars on here and i can see 10 of the photos are from here and i can name one of them the silver lady i believe.
so for anyone who cares here is the website i found them at

Stop! Thieves!

You're right. I see at least a dozen photos they've stolen from me. (Not just MGs.) I'll ask that they remove my photos.

Thanks for the heads up.

I took a deeper look...

They've now removed the 43 photos I was able to ID as having come from BritishV8.org.

Would it not be better to allow them to use the photos but require them to attribute and link Britishv8?

I would think of it as free advertising to a self selected crowd of exactly the kind of people you hope to attract.

Their format didn't make that feasible...

Coincidentally, I revisited "base4car" the other day Apparently they've decided to remove their MG and Triumph sections entirely. I briefly visited their Rover section, and immediately saw one of my photos. Interestingly, it's a photo of my very own Buick 215 V8 engine (with nailhead style steel valve covers, four barrel carb, etc.) Definitely and obviously NOT a Rover engine. They're clueless!

Just yesterday I learned that the January edition of "MG Bladet" - the Danish MG Car Club's magazine - contains a plagiarized version of my article about MG EX186. Their editor (Anders Oster) translated my text to Danish and credited himself as the article's author. THIEF! Oster didn't add anything at all to my text, and he weakened the article by omitting my photo captions. He only used some of my photos, supplementing them with a couple 1950s-vintage photos. (He didn't credit any of the photos.)

Frankly, it's disheartening.

i would be pretty mad if some one had done that with my work, if they credit me then i would be ok but if they didn't they would be receiving a vary angry phone call from me demanding they make a thing explaining that it was my work and they coped it.

i cant imagine how frustrating that would be

You have to decide how aggressive you want to be in enforcing your property rights. Define a balance that you can live with, and then don't question your own judgement and don't fret over what you've decided to let go. Far better to spend that effort on positive efforts.

I'd use password protected PDF files for copyrighted material, but even those can be cracked if you have the right knowledge.

Get 'em while supplies last!

Might be my car, but that is Curtis' photo. I only found out when someone PM'd me asking if the LE stripe on my car was silver or white.
