thanks.

i plan to do alot of snooping around to help clear up the little issues with mine.

first thing is to fix, or replace the headers that cracked, and a few minor leaks.

anybody got a spare set for a 2.8L GM? even stock manifolds will help. i hope to save up and get a set, but 460+ is strong for a set of headers that aren't even painted

Trust me Ed, they can cost more than that.

I just had my headers ceramic coated inside and out, a bit pricy but they're really pretty.

For four years, back in the late 80's, I lived down the street from Moss when it was at the old Goleta location before moving downtown. They held an occasionally event for all British cars which my GT and I never missed. V8 MG's were rather rare back then but a few Old's V6 MG's would show up. Moss didn't think much of the practice, probably still doesn't, but I loved them and, until I fell in with these V8 guys here, I seriously considered the conversion and still think it's a great upgrade. A lot of power can be gained from a good V6.

Im quite happy with my V6 as a daily driver, over 51,000 miles since 2010. Some of the guys tease us 6 cyc types but we are still invited to British V8 events.

i've only driven mine 1 time since the purchase, waiting until i sell the 76, and don't have time for much else, right now, but plan to be driving it before fall.

got some things i want to do to it, first.

There's a few Pacesetter headers for sale on Ebay for the 2.8 Camaro. $278.00 was the cheapest I saw.
Stock cast iron manifolds as low as $19.99
With a little cleanup from a die grinder the cast manifolds aren't too bad. And they would probably fit better than a header.

Cheers
Fred

and they won't crack, like the fabbed headers did on mine, plus, the "y" pipe doesn't flow, either.

i would actually prefer the manifolds, due to the space issue.

could i talk you into giving me the links to the options you found?

i haven't even had time to install all the extra parts on the 76 i have for sale, and, it looks like i won't have the time for a while.

thanks

I just did Ebay.com and searched "2.8 camaro v6 exhaust manifold"
I would do away with the Y pipe and put in a true dual system.
Not for any performance gain as there won't likely be one.
But because the 2.8 fires evenly from side to side.
The exhaust note is fantastic.
Cheers
Fred

and I guess the cast headers give off a lot less heat where you don't want it, under the bonnet.

i'm gonna check the local scrap yards, 1st, then, go from there. the exhaust will stay single, but, the y pipe connection doesn't look like it flows well.

the pictures i currently have are png, so i'll have to load them on my MG E page.
