At last the car moves under its own power. The new clutch matser cylinder was installed and bled out nicely and the fender flares are finally bonded to the car. Lots of little things to sort out and then bodywork begins in earnest. The car feels like she will be a beast once i get her fine tuned. She did want to run a little hot when sitting at idle and the idle would sometimes flare for 900rpm to 2000rpm. Lots of tuning and maybe a new Edelbrock carb in her immediate future.

Thanks to all of you on these forums. I could not have done it without you.

Here she is resting comfortably in the driveway after her maiden voyage (Sans windshield and passenger side door :) )

Congrats! If it were me, I'd put the door and windshield on and drive/tune it while the weather's nice. You'll have all winter to fi ish the body.

I know how good it feels after all the work. I just had mine a couple months ago. The sorting work can now begin, good luck.

Rob, that's exactly what I'm gonna do. Drive it while the weathers nice and get it ready for Spring panting.

OK, door and windsheld are back on and I continue to sort the car. I made my 1st high speed run. The Hurricane run because it was done to the Scorpions song "Rock me Like a Hurricane (Not that you can hear the stereo at WOT). I ran the car from about 15MPH in 2nd up to 100MPH in 4th. WOW it got their fast! The motor runs better at WOT than it does driving around town, probably running a little rich at part throttle. The car tracks flat, no shakes or vibrations and handles nicely. It still wants to run a little hot and wont hold temperature but there are lots of ideas on this forum for solving that.

Was all the work, sweat, cussing cuts, burns re-dos etc, worth it? HECK YES!

Congrats Keith. As we say around here, it's "the most fun you can have with your boots on."

Just from your description I can almost feel the wind and hear the rumble. "Kick the fires and lite the tires" and come on over to Townsend. I bet we won't even notice the paint work.
