rover automatic to T5
Question.....A friend of mine is about to sell a Rover V8 from a Discovery that was originally an automatic.
If someone wanted to fit a T5 does he need a Rover manual bell housing....or will he need to obtain a BOP bellhousing (or an aftermarket such as available from D&D??? (I'm not sure of the bolt pattern of the Rover automatic to bell house) Thanks in advance. |

Re: rover automatic to T5
The D$D bellhousing should do the trick.

Re: rover automatic to T5
There "is" 215 Buick/Olds, if you can find.. Make sure it's the large hole/ big 4 speed bolt pattern. Small hole/pattern fits the early 3 speeds. Good Luck, roverman.

Re: rover automatic to T5
I stumbled across a three speed bolt pattern (big hole) BOP bell housing cheap and TIG welded some rough shaped aluminum billet in place then surfaced it in a vertical mill, drilled the 4 speed pattern and installed Timeserts. Might be prohibitively expensive unless you have access to the right tools.
