Has anyone ever heard of anyone installing a Miata engine and transmission into an MG TD? I recently purchased an MG TD with a midget 1275 engine and trans.
doing a little research it looks like the 1275 weighs more than the Miata 1.6 From photo's it looks like if you remove the power steering pump and AC equipment that the engine is almost narrow enough to fit. The fuel injection is wide at the top but also wonder if you could swap that out with a couple SU carbs.

Any thought or comments? Just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks.
