What sounds like a long-ago repower.
V8-60hp. The inherent cooling issues seem to have been addressed, with separate temp gauges for each bank, never saw that before.
Period Offie go-faster bits.
Auction on BaT where, as usual, posters find things to moan about. Me, I rather like it.

Turnkey. All weather equipment. Looks well built and a lot of fun, and I bet it won't be a lot of $$$.

Hi all, I'm Scott and am new here. I've been lucky enough to own many cars in my life, but this is my first British car aside from my 1966 Series 11 Land Rover years ago. I purchased this particular 1952 TD on BaT; still awaiting to go retrieve it - it's nearly at the Canadian border (and I am 30 miles East on Manhattan, NY). The elderly gent that restored it had his work cut out for him and did a fine job; it was a project. It was in storage since 1975 but the engine swap may have been long before then. He redid everything over a three-year period and said that the internal engine components were like new inside, as if the previous owner never actually got the V8 running. The engine was removed and reinstalled the engine after being disassembled and updated. The 9" Ford clutch was retained, and mated to the newly rebuilt, stock MG trans and stock rear. Stay tuned. Thanks, Scott

Scott, you should join the group in Dayton OH in July - great bunch of people and we'd love to see your car. But, when did they move Manhattan up to the Canadian boarder?!?!

He can be forgiven for that Carl, he's a Texan. In the Texas view 95% of the world is Texas and the rest just sort of floats along the borders. ;)

I appreciate the comments, thanks. Yes, just the car is on Canadian border, I hope to get up there in mid-June to drag her home. Dayton sounds fun, but my animals, 6 year old son, pregnant wife and the 5:33 rear won’t give me the time I need. It needs a top and side curtains, the rubber beading along both the running boards, and the aluminum running board strips. Everything else looks well sorted. Of course, I will know more after spending some time getting to know the car. I’ve been excited as I’ve ever been about any car and I’ve had plenty. This is the oldest vechicle I’ve ever had l, save for my 1946 Willy’s I bought when I was 15. Thanks again, good to have better minds than my own to get ideas from! Scott

"it's nearly at the Canadian border (and I am 30 miles East on Manhattan, NY)"

I was commenting on the typo - on vs of... Was just trying to be funny. But I do think the car is cool and would love to see it.

Scott 30 miles east of Manhattan suggests Long Island. Almost all of my family has moved out, but Smithtown and Brentwood were where I spent a lot of summers.

Jim, I am from Texas, what country are you from ;)?

You have it right Rob, I’m on the north shore, Cold Spring Harbor here; a mile from Huntington village. My parents moved us out during the Carter-administration. They thought it was too crowded then, fast-forward 40 years and I’m back. Love it here, it’s a special area; lots of old guys in old cars too. I’m home:) I’m new to British vehicles and am glad for the help, so thanks. S

Probably, Jim. But don't do it. Your roads are WAY more fun to drive than our flat & straight as far as you can see roads. Our 80 mph speed limits in some areas are nice though.
