Got this article from Classic Motorsports in my inbox today... [classicmotorsports.com]. Sounds like a bit of work but they did a nice job...

I'd like to know what the F/R weight bias is.

My Zetec is on the stand waiting to be installed in a Bugeye body.

The Zetec is not super light. It uses a cast iron block. Mustangsix (Jack) and his son Brian (Ceres Motorsports) did the build on the Ford Focus Fanatics site and the Mgexperience site. The Zetec is lighter than the MGB motor and is set further back. The Wheels are Nissan Sentra rims recentered to proper offset. Great build!

The Zetec isn't the lightest of engines but easily 100 lbs less than a B-series MG engine.

Jim, the F/R balance was about 51/49 when we weighed it but the top and frame were off that day and the spare might have been missing as well. Add another 75lbs biased toward the rear and it's probably close to 50/50 now.

Zetec Bugeye - that should be fun.

Is there any information about putting a zetec into a midget?

Yes, there are several out there. Search Zetec in midgets or Zetec in Bugeye Sprite. When I finish my Bugeye and TR8 rebuilds I have a Bugeye waiting for a Zetec install. I hope that will begin in the fall.
