Mob steering column swap

Im looking to buy a later model steering column for my 1974 mgb 302 swap project. Is there any differences between the 1975-1980 mgb steering columns? Also, do the electrical components and steering lock/ignition directly transfer to the later model columns? And lastly, other than the firewall modifications is there anything else needed to bolt the column directly in place?

All columns have the same dimensions at the rack end: 3/4 inch, 48 splines. They differ at the steering wheel end. 70-76 are all the same. 77-80 is different. The shaft where the steering wheel connects to can be interchanged between the two types of columns. The later columns did not have a central horn button, the horn was operated by the turn signal switch. However, parts are interchangeable. Still, it is easier to try to obtain a 741/2 through 76 column for your needs so as to avoid modifications..
