Leaking fuel tank 79 V8
Just got my 1st fuel tank leak - the original tank in my 79 B, lower left side. It leaked a few days and then stopped. Any success with repairs, or do I just replace? Suggestions?

Probably just replace. Can possibly be repaired if the tank is in good shape otherwise. Very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing.
Have you dropped the tank, yet? Is is rusty inside? They also tend to rust on top. |

Re: Leaking fuel tank 79 V8
It's one of the items that should be expected to be on the long term replacement schedule. Mine ('71) developed a leak on top in the mid 90's which was not uncommon. It's an opportunity to go to the larger capacity touring tank and/or upgrade to an internal fuel pump.

Thanks to all - I'm gonna replace the tank with a new one. I've got too much driving left to do with this car!
