1974 mgb metal dash conversion

Hi Everyone,
I have a 1974mgb v8 swap I am doing. I never loved the look of the all black padded dash of the car, and came across an early metal dash. I understand the mounting panel up top changes, which I am getting from a rusted out mgb. Is there anything else I should be concerned about? I plan on attempting to splice in that top panel and then it should mount as original.

Thanks everyone!

Some more knowledgeable folks might chime in, but I think the opening by the steering column might be too narrow without modification for a 1974 car. Some of the 68-76 gauges might not fit without trimming (speedo and tach?)

I like the early dashes, but cheaped out/took the easy way and stripped a 74-76 dash to paint body color. Fun part is it's nowhere to be found after a few house moves.

Thankfully dashes with bad foam are still cheap.

The 68-76 speedo and tach are a smaller diameter than the 62-67 & 77-80 speedo and tach.
