perspective owner... Will I fit?
hi,
I am interested in purchasing a Midget here in the U.S. I just want to make sure it is large enough to fit me. I am 6 feet tall and 220 lbs. Do you think I would be able to reasonably fit in there? The one I want to purchase has a roll bar installed and seems to keep the seat from going back all the way. It looks as though I can pick up an extra 3-4 inched by removing it. I just want to get another opinion before I pursue further. thanks for your time! chris cjames289@verizon.net |

Might want to look at a B instead...

I agree with Jim as far as the B offering more room for larger folks, although the robustly built Bill Young seems to fit in his Midget - wonder if he uses a shoehorn?

You will fit.
I'm a smidge under 6'2", 185 lbs. I was surprised that I fit in one. You will have more room in a B, though. |

Re: perspective owner... Will I fit?
The roll cage will be a problem, you'll need the seat all the way back for sure. I'm 6'4" and about 250 pounds or so and a Midget is a snug fit but not uncomfortable. A lot will depend on your proportions, leg length to body length. You may wind up sitting to high in the car if you have a long body length and want to lower the seat bottoms a bit. A B would offer more room, but never be as much fun as the Midget, of course then I'm biased in that opinion. Here's a photo of me and the car at the Spridget 50th Anniversary meet last summer, as you can see my eyesight line is about even with the top of the windshield frame, but I do clear the folding top pretty well and can tuck in under the hard top if I'm careful. I changed the seats in my car to some from a Nissan and am presently working on a new seat for the drivers side to lower me a bit. All that said I still find the car reasonably comfortable to drive and have taken it on several trips of over a couple of hundred miles without discomfort.
