I posted here back in march asking about this swap... anyways it turned out great, lots of power and way more power down low than I thought it would have. 2 resonators, big pipe and a free flowing muffler, pretty deep sound for a rotary. Cut the front cross member on an angle and plated it in with 1/4 " steel, engine really low and as far fwd as I could. Shifter ended up in almost exactly the same spot as stock... just had to make the hole a bit bigger. Solid front mount, rubber trans mount no vibration felt anywhere :) Just need to put some hose on the heater now

those mufflers will not last long on there with the heat from the rotary, when they burn out use the borla ones or the ones with vocanic rock inside, Don't ask me how I know...

you will also need to run a factory Mazda Roraty oil cooler if you want that engine to live

It's a '85 12a. In 84 and 85 mazda used an oil to water cooler under the engine oil filter. We're running pre mixed 2 stroke oil in the fuel instead of the stock oil injection so that lets you use synthetic oil. Since I'm more concerned about engine life and power and not too concerned about the emissions we're running a 160 thermostat. The temp gauge hardly moves.

I agree with you on the 2 bottles though. I told the muffler shop that glass packed bottles won't last they didn't believe me. The muffler is not packed and is a used one out of the RX7.
